Audio of Wilfrid Greave lecture as part of the Munk-Gordon Arctic Speaker Series. Wilfrid's lecture looks at Canada's narrow view of human security, and how current government security policy in the North focuses overwhelmingly upon military defence to conventional security threats. As such, not only does current Canadian 'security' policy fail to reflect the emancipatory potential of the original broad concept of human security, it sustains the militarization of the Arctic and reflects the dominance of southern Canadian strategic priorities over the human security concerns of the people who live in the North.
