Katherine Balpataky is the Executive Director of DataStream where she works with the team to foster strategic partnerships across in Canada. Her goal is to improve freshwater stewardship by empowering diverse groups across Canada to fill critical data gaps. Katherine is passionate about how citizen science can help to advance policy and management decisions.

Katherine holds a Master’s in Environmental Studies from York University and a Bachelor of Journalism from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson).
